The word Somnath means Lord of the Moon and legend has it that this temple was first built by the Moon lord after Lord Shiva heeded to his prayers. Hi, I am Sriram and I am a doctor by profession and a travel buff by passion. Amarnath Cave is a very important Hindu pilgrimage and draws hundreds of thousands of people each year. I was part of the Army contingent providing medical cover to pilgrims at the Holy Cave and was fortunate to experience the bliss of staying in one of the holiest of Hindu Shrines for a good two months.

Therefore I have a detailed knowledge about the Amarnath Yatra, and hence I think I am most suited to guide people about this yatra. To know more about Amarnath yatra, including the dates for 2011 Yatra and details about Amarnath Yatra registration visit my website or click these links.
